About the event

Come and be part of an ambitious project to plant 2,500 natives along the banks of the Mangamahaki Stream by the Omakere Hall.

This project is funded by TLC and will provide a showcase for riparian management as the Mangamahaki is cleared of willows over coming years.

In June, the community came together for an impressive endeavour, planting 1300 native grasses. Join us on 28th July for the next stage of this project as we plant more natives including flax, cabbage trees, sedge, ribbonwoods and manuka.

Bring gardening gloves, sturdy footwear, water bottle, spade.  Children are welcome, but caregivers must supervise them, as the site has steep slopes and is near a stream.  A BBQ lunch will be provided.

To find out more about this project, email Pixie at tukicoordinator@gmail.com.
